ROLE / 01 — WRITER
Writer.
You pitch, research, and write stories that get published. This is not casual posting — your work goes through editing, approval, and publication on a public platform.
Responsibilities
What writers do.
Pitch, research, draft, revise — until the work is publishable.
Pitching & research
- Propose article ideas with a clear angle, relevance, and initial sourcing.
- Research using credible sources and verify information before drafting.
- Interview sources when needed and quote accurately.
- Plan coverage across school life, Jordan, global issues, and sports events.
Drafting & revision
- Write articles in the Mawqif dashboard using our templates and style guide.
- Structure articles clearly: lead, context, evidence, and attribution.
- Respond to editor feedback with specific revisions, not defensive explanations.
- Revise until your work meets publishable standards — this is normal.
Standards & deadlines
- Meet agreed deadlines. If something changes, communicate early.
- Maintain accuracy: correct sourcing, fair representation, and no plagiarism.
- Apply feedback directly and learn from editing patterns.
- Build a consistent portfolio of published work under your name.
What you gain
- Published work under your name on a public platform.
- Real writing experience: pitching, researching, drafting, feedback, and revision.
- A credible portfolio for university applications and beyond.
- Practice in sourcing, verification, and responsible journalism.
