How Mawqif works

Work moves through a newsroom workflow: pitch, write, edit, approve, publish.

1

Pitch

Writers propose ideas with an angle, relevance, and initial sourcing. Coverage includes school, Jordan, global topics, and sports.

2

Write

Drafts are written with evidence, attribution, and structure. You revise until the reporting is clear and defensible.

3

Edit & approve

Editors review for quality, neutrality, sourcing, and clarity. Editors control final publish decisions.

4

Publish & distribute

Approved work is published. Media supports visuals and distribution so strong reporting is seen, not buried.

Application process

Selective by design. We evaluate your work, not only your interest.

1

Fill out the Microsoft Form

Apply as a Writer, Editor, or Media. Share concise, specific answers.

2

Complete the task

You’ll complete a short role-based task. Writers submit a pitch or writing sample. Editors review and improve a sample draft. Media submits a photography/design/distribution sample.

3

Internal review

We review applications for accuracy, judgment, clarity, and consistency. Selection depends on quality and newsroom needs.

4

Final decision

Decisions are sent by email. Interviews may be used only when needed for advanced roles or close decisions.
